CROP Walk, 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM - We Walk Because They Walk. CROP Hunger Walks make a difference locally and around the world. In 2008 Communities Responding to Overcome Poverty held more than 1680 CROP Hunger Walks and raised over $17.1 million.
The Burke CROP Hunger Walk is traditionally supported by approximately twenty congregations in and around the Burke-Springfield-Fairfax-Clifton area. Twenty-five percent of the funds raised goes to local agencies: Ecumenical Community Helping Others and Western Fairfax Christian Ministries. Seventy-five percent goes to Church World Service for self-help development, emergency needs and addressing root causes of poverty in the United States and around the world.
This year's Burke walk starts at Living Savior Lutheran Church on Ox Road south of George Mason at 2 pm, November 22, crosses campus and ends at Fairfax Presbyterian Church around 4 pm.
